ABOUT
Nikos Arvanitis’ artistic and research work focuses on themes, which consider the structures and possibilities of public space indwelling, the aesthetic perception in contemporary society, the construction of collective identities and the concept of the globalized, spectacular, but also institutional massive culture. In his work, these issues are being examined, having as central methodology the relocation of concepts- data and using a practice of various mediums’ analysis and their theoretical documentation (in- situ research, site- specific parameters, historical research). The medium range that his works covers is wide: painting, drawing, photography, video- art, interactive and sound installations and performances, actions and interventions in public space, interactive and participatory works, music and radio productions.
