In my birthplace, where the landscape conjures feelings of loss, pain and confusion, geography plays a vital role in the formation of collective memory. People use the landscape as a tangible manifestation of this collective memory, whether through the creation of monuments or by having the landscape serve as a symbolic stronghold preserving their memory of the past. These visual narratives not only reflect the past but also establish an intimate connection with contemporary issues and imagery. Α spatially liminal condition creates a framework through which I can consider my home country, this shared/divided island, as a hybrid geopolitical landscape driven by affect and politics, a fluid condition which I choose to touch upon by creating loosely-inspired visual links.
