The work of Rania Rangou, although unquestionably painting, refines within her all the experience of the new media of the last forty years, of the visual installations, of photography, of video, of cinema. She creates a visual thriller where elements of reality are intertwined with painting exercises, riddles and puzzles, in a dark psychedelic trip. Every representation seems to hide the threat of a complete overthrow. In her paintings the gaze enters dangerous paths. It is a work that requires careful observation by the viewer. At first glance we see scenes of everyday life. Then we discover a series of puzzles and paradoxes.
